Maddie Burk

INSTRUCTOR

BEGINNERS, YOUNG RIDERS

Maddie’s journey with Oak Haven spans over a decade, during which she has grown into an accomplished and passionate equestrian. In 2018, her family welcomed Bentley into their lives, a pivotal moment that inspired Maddie to fully dedicate herself to the equestrian lifestyle, leaving behind her music and performing arts pursuits. Determined to ride Bentley, a horse requiring an experienced hand, Maddie began honing her skills with Sly under the guidance of her sister, Marissa.

Her dedication and enthusiasm led to an internship opportunity with Leslee, where Maddie’s determination truly shone. She embraced the responsibilities of an advanced horsewoman, accelerating her growth and enabling her to ride Bentley after just a few months of intense training. Maddie’s tireless work ethic and drive soon led her to set her sights on competitive riding, where her perseverance and passion for the sport propelled her to success.

In 2024, Maddie’s hard work culminated in her earning the prestigious titles of Utah State All Breed Horse Association Champion in Hunter Pleasure and Reserve Champion in Hunt Seat Equitation. She has also broadened her expertise by excelling in Western Pleasure, showcasing her versatility and skill across disciplines.

As an instructor at Oak Haven, Maddie brings the same dedication and enthusiasm to her students as she does to her riding.
